Mattster's News

For the past year or so I've been working on a project called Foregone. Today we just launched it into early access. This is the first major non-mobile title I have worked on, and I am quite excited to share it with the world!

Yesterday we released our latest game called My Singing Monsters: Dawn of Fire.

Today it got featured on in the games section of the app store, right at the top!  How exciting is that!?

If you have some time to spare, give it a whirl (it's free!) and let me know what you think! :)

Zeedox and I are looking for a musician to join us for Game Jam 10 starting TODAY at 5 EST.

Comment/PM if interested!

For those unaware, the game is due Sunday at midnight, so it's a tight deadline :)

Knights, Bikes, Lances, and one tired out programmer.

For those who haven't noticed, the 9th Game Jam has just officially ended. The challenge this time was to make a game based off of a screenshot of a game an artist wanted to play.

We ended up going with this screenshot by devilsgarage. I am really happy with the outcome and hope everyone else gets a chance to enjoy it!

In the past day, I added some quick functionality so the editor we used to make the levels would work with the Newgrounds API so anyone could design and upload a level. I can't say I'm proud of some of the coding practices I followed to get this done in time, but I am proud of what we pulled off!

But enough about that, go play!

Starting next week is the FIRST Robotics Championship for the 2013 season. The team I am mentoring was fortunate enough to double qualify with a win in Toronto as well as the Rookie All-star award.

I'm curious who else here on Newgrounds is a part of FIRST. I was talking to Archawn and it turns out he's a part of it and will be at the championships as well. The championships are taking place in St. Louis at the Edward Jones dome starting April 25th and is free to attend, so if you're in the area, come in and say hi!

Here's a quick video for those who are unaware of what competition is like:

If anyone read Tom's latest News Post, then you probably read about a feature that will probably never happen.
"If you check out someone's medals for an individual game, you can click a link to compare their medals to yours and see who got what and who was first. We still need to add the ePenis meter but the length of medals in each column is kinda like an ePenis and the "1st" notifications are like who has a harrier ePenis."

This gave me a good laugh and thought it would be hilarious to see what it would be like, so I poked around a bit and came up with this... When you compare medals, you compare your ePenis too. This add-on will add a box to the top of the page, so you can see who get all of the bragging rights.

This is a Greasemonkey script, so before being able to install, you must download the appropriate add-on:
Firefox Greasemonkey
Chrome Tampermonkey
Internet Explorer

Once installed, go to the download link below, hit install, and go brag ;)

Ghostmas is coming!

You might be able to vote for the Best of September!

The 8th Game Jam is taking place on the weekend of the 12th! Get your teams ready, and be prepared for 72 hours of fun!

Halo 4 is only 35 days away! Who's excited?

The Drawing Grounds is approaching 200,000 views, and 80,000 games created! I have more updates on the way, perhaps even a seasonal "Halloween" update?

I really don't have a lot to talk about... So I leave you with this amazing drawing.

Yesterday, after 2 months of work, I released the Drawing Grounds. I was not sure exactly what would happen, seeing as most of my testing/developing was done offline while at my cottage. But sure enough, things worked out way better than expected!

Within a few hours of launch, games were coming in extremely fast. By the end of the day, several people already had 50+ game invites. Way more then I was expecting. At the time of this post, the stats read:

935 Drawings in the portal
10,500 Games created
3,720 Users

Absolutely amazing.Thank you to all of those who are playing and drawing, I am truly amazed with the quantity, quality, and cocks that have come from you all.

Shout-out to Mike for his help with the API and the bugs that came with it ;)

If you haven't played the Drawing Grounds yet, go play it now.
